IOGO is a planned multiformat global CME initiative of live & enduring activities, including face-to-face peer-to-peer training, to improve MDT knowledge & confidence in the treatment of ovarian & endometrial cancers.
This new educational initiative is based on PCM Scientific’s needs assessment and will cover topics around best practice surrounding treatment of all stages of ovarian cancer and endometrial cancer.
Ovarian and endometrial cancer in particular are both associated with significant challenges, including predominantly late diagnosis of ovarian cancer and increasing rates of endometrial cancer at a time when the incidence of most other cancers is decreasing.
Following a global healthcare provider (HCP) survey and speaking with leading oncologists who specialise in the treatment of ovarian and endometrial cancer, PCM Scientific learned there is a significant education gap with HCPs lacking in knowledge and confidence in their understanding of the current best practice guidelines, limited confidence in treatment decision-making and best practice patience care, and limited time to stay abreast of all emerging data. Lack of adherence to guidelines not only contributes to patient morbidity, but also to disparities in patient care.
The IOGO program will build on a large, engaged faculty of gynecological cancer experts to deliver a robust, interrelated curriculum of resources to stimulate high levels of positive practice change in a global learner community across the US and Europe (including the UK). The IOGO program will work with faculty of gynecological cancer experts to deliver an ACCME and ANCC accredited, holistic curriculum of live face-to-face, virtual, and enduring educational resources to support positive practice change in a global target learner community.
