IOTOD (Improving Outcomes in the Treatment of Opioid Dependence) education has launched its first CME eLearning module, ‘Introduction to Opioid Dependence and Treatment – A Global Escalating Challenge’.

This free, IOTOD e-learning module is designed with an expert faculty to raise awareness for opioid dependence and provide healthcare professionals with an understanding of how this chronic, relapsing disorder can be best managed via individualised treatment. It offers evidence-based insights and practical tools for understanding the complexities of opioid addiction, including risk factors, intervention methods, and a comprehensive overview of treatment options.

The pilot has been launched in English while the French, Spanish and German variants are being finalised with their country experts. A pre- and post-learning assessment is included in the module to support to learning experience and to determine the user’s knowledge gain.

The module is being promoted via our media brands, to our community of primary and secondary care HCPs across the UK and Europe, including addiction specialists, pain specialists, GPs, primary care nurses, psychiatrists, and community pharmacists.

This e-learning module follows the success of regular live and on-demand webinars, most recently the Spring / Summer webinar in May 2024, which is now available to watch on-demand.

IOTOD is an educational initiative that aims to improve opioid dependence healthcare through a variety of programmes.
